Fire Safety Course

Chief Warden’s training course covers how to make decisions about people’s safety during a workplace emergency and trains participants in how to give instructions for responding to the emergency incident. Our training covers their obligations on how to act as a Fire Warden in Queensland. This training is in accordance with the QLD Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 and amendments from 2009 – 2017.

The key topics covered by this course include:

  • Preparing for workplace emergencies
  • Communicating, controlling and coordinating workplace emergency procedures
  • Controlling the response to emergency reports, signals and warnings
  • Coordinating reports and results of the initial emergency response
  • Concluding an incident

Before commencement of each course, the trainer will assess participants language, literacy and numeracy levels.  This will help trainers identify learners who need assistance and support and at the same time the suitability and appropriateness to enrol and complete a course.

Fire Safety Advisor
This Fire Safety Advisor course is designed for Wardens and Chief Wardens specifically working in the capacity of supervisor, trainer, and evacuation plan procedures. This is a nationally accredited training program. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment in the following, PUAFER001 Identify, prevent and report potential facility emergency situations, PUAFER002 Ensure facility emergency prevention procedures, systems and processes are implemented, and PUAFER003 Manage and monitor facility emergency procedures, equipment and other resources.
Fire Warden
This Fire Safety Advisor course is designed for Wardens and Chief Wardens specifically working in the capacity of supervisor, trainer, and evacuation plan procedures. This is a nationally accredited training program. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment in the following, PUAFE004 Respond To Facility Emergencies (Fire Evacuation), PUAFE008 and Confine small emergencies in a facility, and PUAFER005 Operate as part of an Emergency Control Organisation.
