Mine Supervisor Course

RIIRIS402E G2 is a training course for those looking to progress their career, including positions of supervisor, superintendent, OCE, Deputy or SSHR. This program describes a participant’s skills and knowledge required to carry out risk management processes in the Resources and Infrastructure Industries.

NB: This program is an upgrade from RIIRIS301E Apply the Risk Management Process (S1) and evidence of this must be provided prior to training.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The elements contained within the program are as follows:

  • Plan and prepare for implementing the risk management process
  • Identify hazards
  • Assess risk
  • Identify unacceptable risk
  • Identify potential actions
  • Decide on action
  • Implement or facilitate action
  • Review the implementation of action
  • Audit the risk management process
  • Complete records and reports

Before commencement of each course, the trainer will assess participants language, literacy and numeracy levels.  This will help trainers identify learners who need assistance and support and at the same time the suitability and appropriateness to enrol and complete a course.

This G189 Mine Supervisor course is mandatory for all Supervisors in the mining industry. It meets the fundamental requirements of a Mine Supervisor in the Resources Industry as per s.56 of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999 and s.51 of the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for RIIRIS301E - Apply Risk Management Processes, RIIWHS301E - Conduct Safety and Health Investigations, and RIICOM301E - Communicate Information.
S123 Mine Supervisor Course at Brisbane
This G189 Mine Supervisor refresher course is recommended every 5 years. This is as per Reg. 84 of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Regulation 2017 (Qld). The G189 Mine Supervisor refresher course meets the requirements for the position of a Mine Supervisor in the Resources Industry, RIIWHS301E Conduct Safety and Health Investigations, and RIICOM301E Communicate Information.
